A space dedicated to horse lovers, travelers & adventure riders!

World on Horseback began as a passion project in 2019, fueled by a lifelong love of travel and a quest for exciting new riding destinations. I've always believed that exploring a country on horseback offers a unique perspective and deeper insight into its culture. My mission is to share some of my favorite places around the world – from mountain treks to dressage holidays, blending luxury, camping, and everything in between. As a young mom, I’m also excited to be able to highlight the best spots for families who want to travel with kids while still enjoying time in the saddle.

Many of the holidays I recommend are perfect for solo female travelers. But I understand that taking the leap into solo travel can feel daunting, especially if it’s your first time. That’s why we’ve started organizing special World on Horseback retreats a few times a year—hosted getaways where you can connect with like-minded riders and build lasting friendships. Many of our guests who met on one of our rides end up booking future riding holidays together :)

    World on Horseback began as a passion project in 2019, fueled by my love for travel and my quest for exciting new riding destinations. I have always believed that exploring a country on horseback provides a unique perspective and deep insights into its culture. My mission is to share with you some of my favorite spots around the world, offering you the opportunity to experience these incredible places as I have!

    A seasoned Western rider, Shauny joined World on Horseback in 2024. Working diligently behind the scenes, she showcases stunning destinations and supports our clients in planning their dream riding holiday. Shauny travels around the world to vet new destinations and is now the host of many of the World on Horseback retreats we have planned in the upcoming year!
